The Illawarra community will show its Christmas spirit when KidzWish takes over the WIN Entertainment Centre for its two biggest events of the year this Thursday and Friday.

Thousands of smiling kids will pack the WIN Entertainment Centre on Thursday 23 November for the annual KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party.

Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, will welcome 4,300 Illawarra and South Coast children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability and their carers on an ‘under the sea’ Christmas adventure. Other performers include X-Factor winner Cyrus, So Popera Productions (run by Albion Park family the Copelands) Little Mermaid show, Ronald McDonald, the KidzWish Fairy and Santa.

Since inception KidzWish has welcomed over 40,000 children and carers to the annual kid’s party.

KidzWish marketing manager Karouna Micheal said the aim of the KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party is to have as much fun as we can in 3 to 4 hours while making memories that last a lifetime.

“We believe that the KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party makes a real difference to everyone involved. Not only does it have an impact on the children and their families, but also to those who come to volunteer and business sponsors who come to see how their funds have been used,” he said.

“There is no cost to any of the families or school groups that attend the Party, food is catered for by McDonald’s, and even Santa manages to take time out of his busy schedule to pay the children a visit. There is top entertainment, and of course, every child gets a present to take home with them at the end of the day.”

This year more than 20,000 chicken nuggets, 3,000 juice and water pop tops and 3,000 ice-creams were packed for lunch time.

After the annual Christmas Party for 4,300 children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability and their carers on Thursday. More than 600 people will attend the annual fundraising ball on Friday 24 November.

The emcee is Chris Bath and the entertainment line-up includes comedian Shane Bourne, speed painter Brad Blaze and Geoff Harvey and his band.

The KidzWish Foundation also help Illawarra and South Coast families by providing support with speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, an appeals program, music and dance program and sports academy program. KidzWish is now a registered NDIS Service Provider.
