On Monday 12th August, we welcomed Gareth Ward, Minister of FACS and Disability Services, Marianne Saliba, Mayor of Shellharbour, James Dwarte from McDonald’s and KidzWish Ambassador Leo to our KidzWish Place project to announcement the NSW Government’s $1.5 million contribution.
We’re one step closer to completion of our new facility, due to be completed early 2020.
"We've been lucky to get a long lease from Shellharbour Council, and the $1.5 million contribution from the NSW Government announced late last year has got us back on track.
"We're now expecting the facility to be open early in 2020, and it will triple the number of kids we support who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability - giving them access to vital therapy services, and to our music, dance and sports programs."
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said the NSW Government’s $1.5 million contribution will enable the organisation to triple the number of children it supports in the Illawarra and South Coast.
“This project is the first of its kind in the region and will benefit local children and their families,” Mr Ward said.
KidzWish would like to extend a big thank you to NSW Government, Shellharbour City Council and developers TDK Corporations for dedicating funds and time to our local kids.
