All the beautiful smiles from the KidzWish Christmas Party

On Thursday the WIN Entertainment Centre held the annual KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party for 4,300 children in the Illawarra and South Coast.

The annual event held a show for the children with an ‘Under the Sea’ theme, with the help from So Popera Productions Little Mermaid show. Other acts which performed in the show included Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, Ronald McDonald, Santa and the KidzWish Fairy.

One of the performers, X-factor champion and KidzWish ambassador Cyrus Villanueva, made a guest appearance for the Party, once again showing his support for the foundation.

“It’s my first appearance at the KidzWish annual Christmas Party and it’s something that I’m super excited about,” he said.

“I’ve heard nothing but good things about this event all year round and even just being backstage I can hear the crowd roaring.”

Cyrus has done previous work for the KidzWish Foundation, including recently surprising East Woonona Primary with a performance in gratitude for their fundraising efforts.

“I’m super excited to be able to celebrate and to give a little bit back to a community that supported me for a long time,” said Cyrus.

The performance ran from 11am to 1pm, and was full of smiles and cheers from the crowd, both of the children and the parents and carers which accompanied them.

A majority of the children watching the event had attended previously whether once or multiple times, and both parents and children gave positive reviews.

“We’ve come here for a few years now, and it’s just great to see how happy the show makes the kids,” said one parent.

The show, run by both volunteers and KidzWish staff, is an enjoyable day for everyone, with top entertainment and presents for the children, it can be a life changing experience for many families.

“I’ve volunteered for KidzWish events before, but never the Christmas Party, mostly I’m looking forward to making someone happy and seeing the kids smile,” said one volunteer, Daisy.

At the conclusion of the event, the children were presented with a present each from Santa and the KidzWish volunteers, the highlight of many of the children’s experience.

The annual KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party is a great event to provide both children and families with lasting happy memories whilst allowing the Illawarra to show their support for the KidzWish community.
