Simply put, KidzWish will never let our children walk alone.
It's our aim to provide support, love and laughter to children in our community who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability. Never did we expect KidzWish would grow to what it is today.
Since being founded we have developed our programs to now include: Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Music/Dance/Sports/Experience Programs and the KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party. See how we help and what programs we provide. KidzWish is now a registered NDIS service provider in the Illawarra & South Coast.
In the last 12 months we have supported 8000 children and over 130 different conditions, which grows daily. Because of this we are in desperate need of a new, updated premises so we can meet the needs of the children we support.
While it will be sad to say goodbye to our current location at Shell Cove which has been home to many success stories and so many belly laughs, we were lucky enough to secure a beautiful piece of land, just around the corner, in Flinders.
The land was gifted to us by Shellharbour City Council and once construction is complete, it will be named, KidzWish Place. The plans include 6 therapy rooms, 1 music & dance studio, 1 multi purpose sports hall, office administration rooms, covered play area and even a magic cupboard full of toys.
The number of visits to KidzWish Place is projected to double over the next 5 years. Upon completion in 2018, the new KidzWish Place will ensure that we are able to make our programs available to this growing number of local children and families. A local developer, has generously volunteered to project manage the building and KidzWish has commence fundraising.
Each year more than 700 people contribute 5,000 unpaid hours at the numerous events held through the year. Volunteers are a vital part of our success and at KidzWish we know that charity begins at home. We acknowledge those volunteers and thank them for their efforts and all the support they give to our cause. Our children lend a hand too and really help bring our work to life. It really is a wonderful thing to see and be part of so find out more here.
