Board of directors

KidzWish is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Their role and responsibility is to establish the strategic direction of the organisation and oversee business performance.


  • Ken Jordan
    Ken Jordan, Chairperson

    Ken is our Board Chair who brings to the role not only his experience working with various associations and community organisations but he is also a father of 7 children including a 16 year old son with down syndrome and twin boys in out of home care. His experience as a teacher of nearly 20 years and as a parent helps him guide the Foundation to best support the kids of the Illawarra in need. He enjoys family times together around the dining table eating and playing games as well as watching his kids participate in their chosen sports and activities.

  • Franca Venetico
    Franca Venetico, Vice Chairperson

    Franca is a passionate customer experience leader who has achieved commercial results in challenging operational and sales environments, delivered with uncompromising focus on the customer. She has 18 years’ experience in banking and health insurance across product development, pricing, sales and service, marketing, operations and process improvement. Most notably, Franca created a market-leading customer experience (CX) design, Delivery and Voice of Customer analytics, to deliver market share and profitable growth.

    Franca enjoys immersing herself in all cultural aspects of travelling, like learning to salsa in Cuba. She speaks Italian and French and enjoys doing anything creative, pilates and theatre-going.

    Heather Kennedy, Treasurer

    “KidzWish has a strong strategic plan and a clear direction for the Charity over the next 5 years. The Board of Directors fully endorses the mission of the charity in helping children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability. I believe that volunteering my time to KidzWish as Treasurer is more than assisting the cause but it’s a lasting legacy of support, love and laughter.”

    Heather Kennedy is the Manager and Senior Accountant of K.I.S. Accounting & Bookkeeping Professionals. In this capacity she has lead a team of Accountants, Consultants and Bookkeepers supporting SME’s (including Not-for-Profits) in the Illawarra and around Australia for the past 20 years.

  • Mitchell Henry
    Mitchell Henry, Director

    Mitchell is the owner of Specialised Bagging Solutions and been supporting KidzWish for the past three years.

    Mitchell is very excited to be involved in the direction and future of our local charity. His passion is to work with and help children that are sick, disabled and disadvantaged. "I am looking forward to strategically working with the KidzWish Board, and building an engaging and innovative culture that will challenge our teams throughout the organisation."

    Mitchell Henry has been the Managing Director of Specialised Bagging Solutions for 3 years, working with a national business to bag 20kg bags of Australian Builders cement.

  • Leigh Stewart
    Leigh Stewart OAM, Director

    “There is very little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference”. Leigh’s work ethic is based on making a difference, an ethic that was instilled in him from an early age.

    Leigh brings an array of experience to KidzWish in fundraising, Community Service and Business. In 2011, Leigh was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to the community.

  • Linda Vorrias
    Linda Vorrias, Director

    Linda has worked for the Department of Justice and Communities for 21 years and has a Diploma in Journalism, Editing and Proofreading. 

    "I have a strong commitment to KidzWish and wanted to not only become better informed, but also to help our community and children grow to have a strong future. KidzWish is able to provide fantastic services which are fun and interesting and enables everyone to make a real difference in the lives of our children." Linda has 2 boys and is passionate about volunteering in the local community.
