National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

KidzWish and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

KidzWish believes that the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will provide greater access to services for children with disability in the Illawarra region. We will be delivering services for children under the NDIS. Currently, we envision these services to cover Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology however services and programs may be added as we approach the roll out and into the future. Register here to have your details added to our NDIS mailing list.

What is the NDIS?

The NDIS is a new national approach to helping people with disability, their families and carers to access care and support. It designed to support people with disability throughout their entire life according to each person’s needs and goals.

The NDIS is a major reform of disability services in Australia that moves from a “block funding” approach – where Non-Government Organisations received funding to deliver disability services - to bringing individual funding packages to participants. This means that individuals can have greater choice and control of all services and supports accessed.

The NDIS will provide Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.
