Hello Dear Friends.
Well we are still receiving great accolades regarding the 2009 Christmas Party for Special Children and the amazing Annual Charity Ball at the WIN Entertainment Centre. Both events have been acclaimed as the ‘best in the region’, so much so, that bookings are flooding in for the Charity Ball, if you would like to attend you can request us to hold seats or a table for you.
In more breaking news, we are now going to hold the events over 2 days, which will enable us to produce an even more spectacular Party for the children and our guests at the Ball.
Our wonderful relationship with the WIN Entertainment Centre continues, and after talks with G.M Stuart Barnes, The KidzWish Christmas Tree for 2010 will have an event of its own, with a spectacular launch and a campaign of involvement from the community. We thought it would be a beautiful gesture to have the whole community involved in actually providing the funds needed for The Christmas Party we produce for thousands of local Special Children.
We anticipate that 3,000 children will attend this year, so we will offer those who live here and whose Christmas’ are usually very fulfilled, the opportunity to sponsor a child to attend the party and be proud of doing it. Our aim is to get everyone involved, including large and small business, schools and the general public. The reward is simple, providing a child with a beautiful experience they may never have, including lots of small gifts and a special one from Santa. A true gift of love at Christmas.
The KidzWish Christmas Tree will be the symbol of what the community has contributed and when it is lit, it will be covered in lights and fairies. A ‘Love and Laughter role, recognising those who have given the gift of attending will be displayed. Please view the video on the home page if you would like to see the last Christmas Party for Special Children.
Our Board and staff are looking forward to 2010 with great anticipation. We have settled well into KidzWish Place at Shell Cove, with celebrations and lots of visits from sponsors and friends. Already applications are coming in from those who wish to take advantage of our Therapy Program. Kim together with professional Therapists will oversee the project in which we have invested $200.000.00. We are all excited by the changes we may be able to bring to the lives of the children and their families and we thank all of you that have helped us to be able to do this.
If you are passing KidzWish Place, we would love you to pop in and say ‘Good day’ to Rhianna, Renee, Kim and Ashley who has recently joined us for a couple of days a week, whilst she studies at The University of Wollongong.
Meanwhile have a very safe, and Happy 2010 from The KidzWish Board, our Chairperson Wendy Gee and myself.
Lots of Love and Laughter
Chris Beaven Executive Director The KidzWish Foundation Inc.
